Ramadan is the most sacred month for Muslims. It is the month when the Holy Quran was revealed for the guidance of the people. Allah Almighty says, “O Muslims! Fasting is for me and I will give its reward.” It is the religious obligation of the Muslims above 12 years and in good health to keep fasting in this month to seek forgiveness of Allah Almighty. Different cultures follow their set traditions during this sacred month. The Muslim community in San Diego follows the Islamic tenets in the holy month of Ramadan and they follow the Islamic traditions. They invite guests and share their food while throwing iftar parties for the people around them. In this way, they exhibit the Islamic traditions being a good Muslim, good citizen and a good neighbor. Ramadan 2023 has arrived for the Muslims and the Muslim community of San Diego also follows the Ramadan Calendar issued by Saudi Arabia.
