During the sacred month of Ramadan, the significance of the Tarawih prayer cannot be understated. While it’s not obligatory to perform the Tarawih prayer immediately following the Isha prayer, one has the flexibility to offer it later. However, if your plan involves attending the mosque, it typically begins after the congregation completes the two Sunnah rakahs associated with the Isha prayer. The Tarawih prayer is comprised of an even number of rakahs, without a strict requirement on the exact count, though it is common practice to observe either eight or twenty rakat. It’s advisable to take brief pauses after every four rakat.
In congregational prayers at the mosque, the traweh is a special part of Ramadan festivities of prayer and blessing. It is mostly recited in eight or twenty rakah. Then there is the recommendation of taking a short break. When in the mosque there is usually supplication or zikr during this break. Taraweh is to be recited out loud and one juz or thirtieth part of the Holy Qur’an is to be recited in it. It is permissible to hold the holy Quran during tarawih prayer if you are praying alone or leading others and hen perform while reading loudly from it. But during the fard or obligatory prayer, Muslims must recite the holy Quran after learning it from your own memory. There is an exception for the new Muslims who are still under the process of learning how to pray. If you are unable to read Arabic, in that case, you may also recite the holy Quran from your own memory. Adavale awaits Ramadan on stand by. refer below for details of Sehar & Iftar Time.
